Empowered Camp Skit

Hey guys! This is just a sample camp skit if you have no idea what to have for a skit. This is a true story based on my life. I have alopecia areata which is a hair fall disease and I was diagnosed since 2008. Life was hard, like REALLY HARD even after knowing Christ. But through that experience, I was mould to be a strong girl where I know that my identity is only found in Christ and Christ alone and only He can say who I am. What He thinks of me matters the most, even more than what my mom thinks of me!

“Empowered” Camp Skit

Roles:
Narrator: Jeffrey
Little Grace
Big Grace
Father: Brian
Mother: Christine
2 Little bullies: Jensen, Cailyn
2 Popular girls: Leh Roo, Bertha

Scene 1:
This is a story of a little girl name Grace. She is a one energetic, optimistic fine girl grown up with a father and a mother who loves her so much. But one day, she is diagnosed with alopecia, a hair fall disease. As days pass by, her hair falls like fallen leaves and eventually she has a bald patch at the back of her head. One day, she went to school…

(Rachel enters. Jensen and Cailyn sits behind her and saw the bald patch.)

Jensen: (talking to Cailyn) Hey! Grace has a bald patch on her head. Ewww! (talking to everyone) Hey everybody! Grace has a bald patch on her head!

Cailyn: (sings) Grace has no hair, Grace has no hair! Hahahaha

(Jensen and Cailyn laughs at her and sticks notes saying “bald girl”)

Scene 2:
Ever since then, her classmates and slowly schoolmates made fun of her. She became moody and sad. She swipes of the sticky notes that are on her back every time before she reach home. She don’t want her parents to find out.

(Grace reaches home)

Christine: Hey sweetheart, how’s school? Did you play with your friends in school? And how’s your homework? Did the teacher…

(Dad cuts in)

Brian: Oh Christine, you know our daughter. She is always doing fine. Right sweetie?

(Brian lifts Grace up and spins her. Little Grace is happy and enjoyed the “ride”)

Brian: Now go to your room and freshen up.
Christine: Mommy’s gonna cook something delicious tonight. We’ll call you when dinner’s ready.

(Everyone leaves. Big Grace appears)

That is how little Grace’s life goes even until she grew up. Her hair falls and eventually she becomes bald. However, she is more low-spirited and gloomy which people would call her by her nickname “Emo girl”.

Scene 3:
(After 7 years... Big Grace enters. Two popular girls enters and saw Grace.)

Leh Roo: Hey Emo girl! There’s a high school dance coming up. Have you found your partner? Oops I’m sorry, nobody wants you!
Bertha: See this hair? This is naturally grown hair unlike your… wig.

(Leh Roo and Bertha laughs. Weng Hong flips the books Grace’s holding)

Weng Hong: The nerd’s not gonna go to the homecomings anyway cause she need to study and get her As. Plus her hair falls like waterfall. Nobody’s gonna take that kind of girl to a dance!

(Weng Hong, Leh Roo and Bertha laughs at her as Grace walks out. Weng Hong and Leh Roo leaves.)

Scene 4:
(Grace enters sobing and screaming, feeling depressed. Slow music enters and Grace expresses her displease to God)

(Friend comes in)

Phoebe: Hey, you look so down. I heard what happened to you. Well, yes you may be different but that doesn’t mean that God hates you to create you like this. God loves you for who you are and you have to take heart on that. God wants to empower you for something greater for His plan.

(Phoebe holds her hand and prays for her sings That’s What Faith Can Do by Kutless)

(Slowly music comes in as Phoebe leaves, singing – This Is Me from “The Greatest Showman)

Scene 5:
After that encounter, Grace changed, she is no longer the sad and low-spirited girl, but to the optimistic and energetic girl that she used to be because she found herself in god and EMPOWERED BY GOD.

(Song We Dance by Bright Ones enters. Grace dances. All other joins in)
